Rising Circles
To Georges Rousse, this shape evoques all at the same time the sun - symbol of light, the eye of the photographer and the lens of his camera.
Inspired in 1980 by Zazen (japanese meditation, that he practiced for many years), and the art of drawing perfect circles in a single freehand gesture, Georges Rousse adopted this form as an emblem of his work. This is the form to which he always returns, which he studies and deepens as in Zazen: never perfect, this form can always improve. In the works of Georges Rousse, this relationship to space is more and more precise and this quest is never finished.
